Environmental Toxins Test

We are exposed to hundreds of chemicals every day: from food and water, plastic containers, cosmetics, cleaning products, receipts, car exhaust, building materials and pesticides. This test measures 27 environmental toxins from a single at-home urine sample, so we can see what's actually building up in your body, remove the sources and support your natural detox pathways with a targeted plan.

Why test for environmental toxins?

You can't remove what you can't see. According to the lab, more than 80,000 chemicals are registered for use in the U.S., and most have never been properly assessed for their impact on human health. Plastic production alone increased by roughly 2000% between 1964 and 2014.

The lab describes environmental toxicants as chemicals that can disrupt normal metabolic processes and that have been associated with immune dysfunction, neurological disorders, hormone (endocrine) disruption and certain cancers. Identifying your personal exposures is the first step. Once we know which chemicals are elevated, we know where they most likely come from (your food, water, personal care products, home or workplace) and which detox pathways need the most support.

The test is run by an accredited U.S. lab using LC-MS/MS (mass spectrometry), a highly specific and sensitive method for detecting very low levels of chemicals.

Who should consider testing?

Are you experiencing any of these?

  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Brain fog, memory problems or cognitive dysfunction
  • Mood or behavioral changes
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Eye irritation
  • Respiratory problems
  • Neurological symptoms

Testing is also a good idea if you:

  • Want a baseline before starting a detox program
  • Are planning a pregnancy or struggling with fertility
  • Have hormone imbalances, thyroid issues or unexplained weight gain
  • Live near farmland, golf courses, busy roads or industry
  • Work with solvents, paints, fuels, plastics, cleaning chemicals or pesticides
  • Have "done everything right" and still aren't getting better

According to the lab, environmental toxicant exposure has been associated with ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, autism spectrum disorder, birth defects, cardiovascular disease, COPD, diabetes, endocrine disruption, endometriosis, immune dysfunction, infertility, obesity, Parkinson's disease and various cancers.

How it works

  1. Order onlineA urine collection kit with step-by-step instructions is mailed to you.
  2. Collect at homeAbout 10 mL of first-morning urine. No needles, no clinic visit.
  3. Freeze & shipFreeze the sample for at least 4 hours, then ship it to the lab with the ice pack provided (Monday–Thursday).

Frequently asked questions

What lab do you use for the Environmental Toxins Test?

Mosaic Diagnostics (MosaicDX, formerly Great Plains Laboratory). The lab runs this panel as its TOXDetect Profile®.

Will I receive a kit to collect my urine sample?

Yes. You'll receive a kit with a collection cup, an ice pack, an insulated shipping bag and full instructions.

Can the test tell me where my toxins are coming from?

Not exactly. It shows which chemicals are in your body, not their specific source. But each toxin has well-known common sources, and together we can track them down and remove them.

I'm outside the U.S. Can I still order?

Shipping to and from the lab is included for U.S. residents only. If you live outside the U.S., please contact us before ordering.

Can I combine it with other urine tests?

Yes. The lab can run several urine tests, such as the Organic Acids Test and the Mold (Mycotoxin) test, from the same urine sample, as long as there is enough volume.
